Caves
What is a cave? Well, a cave is an underground void large enough for a human to enter, and it is precisely because of this last fact why so many of us attach
feelings of history and mysticism towards caves that makes them so appealing.
Exploring a natural home used by our ancestors and animals thousands of years ago for shelter and protection is an enduring curiosity many of us feel - especially with all the comforts of all our modern age -and Europe is blessed with many of the world's most interesting, diverse and devoloped caves, many of which are only a short drive from 21st century civilisation.
Whatever the weather cave exploration offers an engrossing experience: if it is raining you can observe first-hand the formation of stalactite and stalagmites; you can hear the strange howling sounds rushing through tunnels if it is windy, and when the sun is baking the earth head underground and cool off for a while.
A visit to a cave can be rewarding, awe-inspiring, educational and inexpensive day-out.
